Hyperfuels Methanol and Ethanol Fuel Containers
Hyperfuels LLC is recalling certain methanol and ethanol fuel containers. Consumers should stop using the recalled containers immediately and contact Hyperfuels for a refund.
Hazard
The recalled portable fuel containers do not have the flame mitigation devices required by the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act. This can create a serious and potentially deadly flame-jetting hazard.
In addition, the recalled methanol container is not child-resistant, creating a risk of serious injury or death if its contents are swallowed by a young child. The recalled containers also do not meet applicable labeling requirements under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.

Approximately 124 containers are included in this recall. The products were sold at The Asylum automotive store and online at Hyperfuels.com from approximately May 2024 through May 2026 for about $4.
What consumers should do
- Stop using the recalled container immediately. Keep it away from ignition sources, heat, sparks, flames, children, and unauthorized persons.
- Request a refund by contacting Hyperfuels using the information below.
- Hyperfuels will ask you to complete an online recall form and provide photographs of the recalled product.
- Do not return, dispose of, or destroy the product until Hyperfuels provides instructions.
- Dispose of methanol or ethanol fuel only in accordance with applicable local and state requirements. Contact your local household-hazardous-waste facility or a qualified recycling/disposal provider; do not pour fuel into sewers or storm drains and do not place it in ordinary trash.
